Families want to promote their child’s learning, but many families do not know appropriate activities. Providing families with simple, low cost activities that they can make is one way to encourage them to be positively involved in their child’s literacy development. The Make and Take Home Activities below are part of "The Literacy Connection at Home Curriculum." They can be used separately in a variety of ways:

  • Workshop Setting
  • Home Visit
  • Activities to Send Home

The best results occur when parents have the opportunity to make and practice using the activity appropriately before experiencing it with their child. Parents will then play with confidence.
